Entebbe Oval

10:30am

When Patidar met the Wanderers on July 1st, the result was more than enough to describe the mauling the latter received as Patidar won by 162 runs after setting a mammoth 329 in their innings.

Wanderers and Patidar will wrap up their seasons when they face off at the Entebbe oval. And with promotion already guaranteed for Patidar, they come into this fixture with every intention to win knowing they stand a chance at being crowned champions.

It will be interesting to see how Patidar approach the game knowing that a win in this fixture and a loss for Tornado in the other fixture will grant them the crown. Should both Tornado and Patidar win, all the latter needs would be a bonus point to bring home the trophy.

In such respect, Patidar will turn to Hardik Patel and Farid Dinani to score the much needed runs. Patidar have been in fine form scoring over 700 runs in their last three fixtures including 323, their second highest after a 329 against Wanderers. They will be riding on their performances with the bat to see them through. Innocent Mwebaze will equally be tasked with stemming the flow of runs with the ball as well as pick the wickets.

Wanderers who started the season on a terrible note have of late picked up with 3 back to back wins giving them the confidence to look forward to every fixture as one they can win. A little too late to push for contention but they will see this as an opportunity to pull one over their opponents.

Wanderers’ turn of fortunes can largely be attributed to the fine form of bowlers David Kateyenge, Zubair Tembo and Nirav Hathi who have been limiting teams from scoring big. In turn, batsmen such as Denis Musali and Joseph Byaruhanga have been more than comfortable going after small scores set by the opposition.

In short, this fixture will be just as intense as the fixture at the Budo oval as the top two teams (Tornado and Patidar) can only self-destruct with results that do not favor their ultimate goals. Their opponents Africa and Wanderers respectively have bones to pick with the top two and both games not be short of flare and entertainment.
